Robert Hall Lewis, born in Portland, Or. on Apr. 22, 1926, was a composer, conductor, and educator. He began his undergraduate studies at the Eastman School of Music in 1945, finishing, with a doctorate, in 1964. From 1952-1953 he studied in Paris with Nadia Boulanger and Eugene Bigout.
